JACKSONVILLE  -  Gene Carlton Brown, 74, of Jacksonville, died Monday, May 30, 2022 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday at Harris Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Drew Parker officiating.  Burial will follow at the Brown Family Cemetery.

Mr. Brown was a son of the late Edward and Mary Ellen Brown.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry; his sister, Theresa; and a granddaughter, Mia.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Ramsey Brown; two daughters, Regina Ellen Hill and her husband, Daniel of Hampstead and Carrie Charlene Brown of Wilmington; three brothers, Edward Earl Brown, Leland Ray Brown and Wade Jackson Brown, all of Jacksonville; and four grandchildren, Jacob, Lindsay, Nico and Julien.

The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon, prior to the service, from 11:00 until 1:00 at the church.
