SWANSBORO  -  George Wheeler Chambers, 75, of Swansboro, finally went home to the place he wanted to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Freedom Way Freewill Baptist Church with Revs. Travis Moots and Steve Petty officiating.

Mr. Chambers was born May 6,1949 in Meridian, MS to the late Paul Wilcox and Mary Rosalie Hardee Chambers.

He was a fixture in the Swansboro community always with a story to tell and a message of hope and forgiveness. He would always say if you asked him how he was "better than I deserve" He was a member of Freedom Way Free Will Baptist Church and would regularly attend Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cedar Point and was a volunteer at the Hem of His Garment.

He is survived by and well loved by his church families from Freedom Way and Emmanuel and many other friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon, prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Southeastern Free Will Baptist College, 532 Eagle Rock Road, Wendell, NC 27591.
