Swansboro- George Edward Turner, Jr., 83, passed away Sunday, March 23,2025 at Cherry Point Nursing Center. He was born February 1,1942 in Baltimore, MD a son of the late George Edward Turner, Sr. and Gladys Braun Turner.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mildred Catholic Church with Father Dave Miller officiating.

George was a retired firefighter with the city of Baltimore. After his retirement he moved to Swansboro and was a member of St. Mildred Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus and the Crystal Coast Woodworkers.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joan Baird Turner of the home; children, Christopher of Elk Grove Village, IL, Stephanie of Bowie, MD, and Luke of Raleigh; granddaughter, Olivia; and a sister, Gene Ann Runk of WV.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Turner.
