Sneads Ferry- Geraldine Thompson Shepard, 77, died Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the ECU Hospice House in Greenville, NC.

A funeral to celebrate Geraldine's life will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home in Holly Ridge. Burial will immediately follow the service at Shepard Family Cemetery, located at 162 Zion Lane, Sneads Ferry, NC.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 30 years, R.L. Shepard; and parents, Clarence and Hazel Thompson; sisters Bobbi Dean and Connie Thompson; brothers Larry, Sammy, Jerry and Donnie Thompson. She is survived by her sons, Duane Shepard and Farron Shepard; daughter in law Sandy Shepard; grandchildren, Sidney Och, Teri Shepard, Ryan Shepard, Kayla Barefoot, Dillon Shepard; great grandchildren, River Barefoot, Kenneth Och, Lena Och, and Warren Shepard; brother, Terry Thompson; and sisters, Gloria Hammond, Marie Carraway,  and Shirley Sterner.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, May 20, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home, Holly Ridge.
