Swansboro- Gwendolyn Steger, 89, passed away Wednesday, December 3,2025, at Onslow Memorial Hospital. She was born February 28,1936 in Lenoir, NC, daughter of the late Gurny and Ivelta Valentine Watson.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 11,2025 at 12:00 pm at Bear Creek Baptist Church with Reverends Tony Lominac and Sandy Bain officiating. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Gwen was the office manager at Camp LeJeune Chaplain's office and loved to spend time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Steger, Jr. (Chris) of Castle Hayne, Russell Steger (Regina) of Swansboro, and Ronald "RonMan" Steger (Maria) of Swansboro; grandchildren: Cameron, Samuel, Scot, Beth, and Jared; great grandchildren: Selah, Noah, August, Ellie, Harrison, Gavin, Mason, Ziva, Logan, and Mallory; and sisters, Carole Taylor and Nina Dula both of Lenoir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Steger, Sr. and siblings, Ed Watson, Leola Wolfe, and Libby Whistnant.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
