JACKSONVILLE  -  Helen Honea Canning, of Jacksonville passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Kempton of Jacksonville surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel.

Mrs Canning retired from First Citizen Bank, Camp Lejeune, where she served as a Branch Manager.

She was married for 61 years to Robert H. Canning, who preceded her in death.   She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Donna White of TX.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Stewart and her husband, Jimmy Stewart of Jacksonville NC; her son-in-law, John White of TX and his wife, Debbie.

Helen was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Robyne Adams and her husband, Jered of Fl;  Amy Hill and her husband, Frankie of VA; Ben Stewart and his wife, Emily of Jacksonville; and Matthew White and his husband, Michael of MD.  She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Madison Adams, Wesley Hill, Easton Stewart and Charlotte Hill.
