JACKSONVILLE  -  Helen Elizabeth Krehel, 90, of Jacksonville,  passed away peacefully at the home of her son, James Krehel in Elizabeth City, NC  on Thursday, December 25, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday January 8, 2025 at the Infant of Prague Catholic Church.

Born November 23,1935 in Willisville, IL, she was the daughter of the late Oliver Jones and Ruth (Lampkin) Jones.  Helen worked as an accounting specialist for the Marine Corps Club System for 40 years.  She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters in Jacksonville, NC for many years.  She married the late Joseph Robert Krehel at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rock Island, IL on December 1, 1956.

She was preceded in death by her late husband Joseph Krehel and her three brothers Everett, Ivy and Floyd Jones.

Survivors include her two children, James Krehel and Catherine (Krehel) Williams and her six grandchildren, Victoria (Krehel) Mason, Ashley (Krehel) Williams, Robert Krehel, Lauren Williams, Joseph Williams and Matthew Williams as well as her three great-grandchildren, Jaxon Williams, Ryder Krehel and Charles Williams.

Helen was a devoted Catholic and loving mother to her children.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2025 6-8 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel
