Jacksonville – Henry Lentz McCormick, 82, of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away on June 17, 2025. Born in Chester, South Carolina, on October 19, 1942, Henry spent most of his life in Jacksonville, where he built a lasting legacy in both work and family.

He is survived by his children, Lisa Newbold, Stephen N. McCormick (Brittany), and Amanda Polk (JJ Polk). He was a proud grandfather to Tiffany Newbold, Hailey Rodgers, Lucas McCormick, Mason McCormick, and Bennett Polk.

Henry is also survived by his brothers, John "Johnny" McCormick and Daniel "David" McCormick.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Michael and Lentz McCormick and brothers, Archie McCormick and James "Jimmy" McCormick.

Known for his work in construction, Henry led countless projects over the years- from storm recovery and pipe laying to new property development. He was respected for his grit and knowledge and mentored many throughout his long career in what he proudly called the "dirt business".

Outside of work, Henry loved surfing, the beach, cooking big breakfasts, and telling even bigger stories. He was unmistakable-often smelling of cigars, classic Old Spice, and peppermint candies. He'll be remembered for his straight talk, work ethic, and the endless "Dad" jokes.

He will be missed by many.
