Herbert Guy "Pete" Howard Jr, age 81, of Richlands, North Carolina, was called home on Friday, January 30, 2026. He was the son of Herbert Guy Howard Sr (deceased) and Martha Lee Shyver (deceased).

Born with a servant's heart and unwavering faith, Pete lived a life devoted to God, family, and community. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and faithfully pastored New Covenant Church in Richlands for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Ann Howard; two daughters, Julianna H. White (husband Brett White) and Camille L. Pierce (husband Jimmy Pierce); two sisters, Juanita Pittman and Joan Ramsey; and five grandchildren, Brooke Ramsey (husband Dallas Ramsey), Rachel Pierce, Christopher White (wife Brenna White), Jamie Pierce, and Joshua White. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren.

Pete will be remembered for his love and reverence for the Lord, and devotion to his family and congregation; he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. There will be no services at this time.
