Obituary

Idalia Elizabeth Smith Brown, 75, of Cedar Point passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home in Swansboro with Rev. Rudolph Outlaw officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery, in Bogue, NC.
She was born in Carteret County, NC and was the daughter of the Dexter and Martha Lewis Smith. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, John David Brown; a granddaughter, Melissa Gayle Brown; brother, Tink Smith; four sisters, Pearl Johnson, Nellie O'Neal, Leader Guthrie, and Lola Wright.
She is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca A. Gilmore of Cedar Point; Cheryl Denise Brown of Cedar Point; son, David B. Frown and wife, Teresa of Stella; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Iva Bell Weatherington of Jacksonville; Reno Bolafka of Cape Carteret.
Flowers are welcome or donations may be sent to: St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The family will receive friends on Monday night from 6:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. at Jones Fuenral Home in Swansboro.
