JACKSONVILLE  -  Idalina Maciel, born on June 18, 1934, on the island of Faial, in the Azores off the coast of Portugal, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and family. Idalina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose life was a testament to her enduring commitment to her family and her Portuguese heritage. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Infant of Prague Catholic Church.

Idalina was married to Silvino Maciel for 67 wonderful years. Her marriage was a cornerstone of her life, providing a foundation of love and support for her family. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories and shared experiences. Ida and Silvino loved to travel and took numerous vacations and trips during their marriage.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Eva Maciel, who was a source of immense pride and joy. Idalina's legacy continues through her three grandchildren: Thomas, Karla (Andy) and Evan (Audra), who each carry forward her values and spirit. Her family further extends to her four great-grandchildren: Ava, Cora, Aurelia, and Charlotte, who brought her endless happiness and joy.

Idalina's life was made brighter by the love and kinship of her close friends. She relished spending time with neighbors and friends, whether it was getting lunch or coffee, shopping, or enjoying being outside in the sun near the water.

Her passing is a profound loss to all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Idalina Maciel will be remembered for her unwavering love, her dedication to her family, and her ability to bring joy to those around her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:00 AM at the church.
