Mr. Stanley was born in Woodman, KY to the late Jack J. Stanley and Lyda Mae Hathaway Stanley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ann.
Mr. Jack served in the USMC for over 20 years, before retiring as a MSgt in 1992. He then enjoyed working as a custodian at Clyde Erwin Elementary School and also as a bus driver for Onslow County Schools. He was a long-time member of Maranatha Baptist Church where he served in numerous capacities. However, he was happiest whenever he was cooking and/or hosting. As the unofficial host and cook at Maranatha, he prepared thousands of meals for church members and practically every visiting group of missionaries and guests.
