Emerald Isle- Jacqueline Foss Getsinger, 91, passed away April 29, 2026, in Greenville. She was born November 16, 1934, in Lenoir County, NC, a daughter of the late Simon Jack and Hazel Paschall Foss.

A Celebration of life will be held at Chapel by the Sea at a later date.

Jackie graduated from East Carolina College in 1952. She taught for 30 years before retiring from Martin Middle School in 1988. She and Sam retired to Emerald Isle where she fell in love with the local community. She attended Chapel by the Sea regularly. She served both her community and her church with a joyful heart. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and friends. Her quick wit, easy smile and servant's heart will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by son, Scott Getsinger (Nikki) of Greenville; grandchildren, Jessica Getsinger, Jordan Getsinger, and Taylor Getsinger; great grandchildren, Mason and Mari; and brother, Ricky Foss of Lagrange.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel E. Getsinger, Jr.; son, Brad Foss Getsinger; and her sister, Helen Smith.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
