SNEADS FERRY  -  James Addison Young, III, 77, passed away peacefully Friday, September 13, 2024, at his home.  He was born on December 24, 1946, in New Rochelle, NY to J. Addison Young II and Myrtle Plander Young. He received his B.E. in chemical engineering from New York University, and took graduate courses at NYU and Louisiana State University. He spent 35 years with Geigy Chemical Company, CIBA-Geigy, and CIBA. After his retirement, he was a real estate broker with Sun Spots Realty, and later started Young Spots Realty.

His family and the Rotary Club of Sneads Ferry were his two biggest passions Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Fletcher Young; sons Brian Fletcher Young (Michelle) of Cary, NC and Gregory James Young of Sneads Ferry; three grandchildren: Genetta Marie Young and Addison Amos Young (Nichole) of Cary; Amelia Ann Young of Greensboro, NC; and a younger brother, Geoffrey P. Young (Emily) of Seal Cove, ME. A celebration of life may be held in the future.
