James "Jimmy" Allen Chadwick Sr., 85, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Tuesday, April 29th, 2025, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time.

Jimmy dedicated over 45 years of his life to Furniture Fair as a skilled and hardworking carpet installer. But beyond his work, it was his kind spirit and infectious joy that truly defined him. A gentle soul with a heart full of warmth, Jimmy never met a stranger. His quick wit and endless supply of jokes brought laughter to every room he entered, and his easygoing nature reminded us all not to take life too seriously.

He found joy in the simple pleasures—fishing, boating, his cats, and brightening any room he entered. Family meant the world to Jimmy, and nothing brought him more pride than being a father. His sons remember him with love and gratitude, holding close the laughter, stories, and moments they shared. Becoming a grandfather and great-grandfather only deepened the joy he found in family.

Jimmy's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering love. He will be deeply missed.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Geneva Wood and William Clifton Chadwick.

He is survived by his sons James A. Chadwick Jr., Wife Michelle M. Chadwick of Jacksonville, NC, and Robert H. Chadwick, Wife Cherevalyn Chadwick of Sneads Ferry, NC. His grandchildren Sarah (Arelis) Cordero-Chadwick of Orlando, Fl, Emily Chadwick of Jacksonville, NC, Rachel (Troy) Chadwick Boyce of Las Vegas, NV, Rebecca Chadwick of Jacksonville, NC, Sean Chadwick of Jacksonville, NC, Chelbi Curry of Hubert, NC, Garrett (Gabrielle) Porter of Sneads Ferry, NC. His Great-Grandchildren Jameson Chadwick, Rose Boyce, Giselle Boyce, Dove Boyce, Rylee Porter. And many Nieces and Nephews.
