Wilmington – James Lane Cox, Jr. "Lane", 82, born and raised in the Catherine Lake community of Richlands and lately of Wilmington, North Carolina passed away on April 9, 2026, at his residence. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 24, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the family residence, located at 4711 Waves Pointe Wilmington, NC 28412

Lane was born on January 29, 1944, in Kinston, North Carolina to the late James Cox, Sr. and Vic Baysden Cox. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Meredith Webb, 2nd wife, Anna, and brother, Kenneth Cox.

He is survived by his son, Tripp Cox; daughter, Kelly Cox Robbins (Scott); stepdaughter, Inga Adriiko (Andrew); and grandchildren, Scarlett Robbins, Averry Robbins, Anna Andriiko, Sasha Andriiko, and Sumlin James Cox.
