James Groggory Hayes, 47, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 5:00 PM, at the Haw Branch United Methodist Church with Military honors. Reverend Matt Jackson will be officiating. Burial will be at a later date at sea.
Mr. Hayes was born in Onslow County. He served his country honorably with the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Elizabeth Moeller Hayes of the home; one daughter, Christine Hayes of the home; two brothers, Nickolas Fox of Jupiter, FL and David Hayes of Jacksonville, NC.
The family will receive friends Friday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
