Obituary

SNEADS FERRY – James David Keith, 71, died on Sunday, August 9, 2020.

David is survived by his wife, Kaye of the home; son, James David Keith, Jr. of Washington, DC, and two daughters, Brandee Odd of Virginia, and Kristi Tilch of Manassas, VA. He is also survived by his grandsons, Codee Keith of Sneads Ferry, Brandon Keith of USN Hawaii, Landon Tilch of Manassas, VA, and Logan Oram of Roswell, GA; and granddaughters Sara Keith of Sneads Ferry, and Kaylee Tilch of Manassas, VA.

There will be a funeral service, with military honors, on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home of Jacksonville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, the family will have a private burial.

David loved the military and was a retired SGM in the US Army, proudly served in Vietnam, and received numerous citations and service awards including the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal and the Purple Heart.  He also served terms as the Commander of VFW Post 7916. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Wounded Warrior Project in his name.

David enjoyed a zest for life, love for his family, and affection for his friends.  He would want everyone to remember that "Life is grand" and to appreciate every moment we have.
