Cape Carteret, NC - James Ray King, 80, died Monday, January 24, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, 11:00AM at Peletier Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at the Brown Holland Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. King was a retired Tech Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force and a recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal. He was a member of the Peletier Baptist Church and of the DAV.
His first wife, Emma Brown King precedes him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey E. King of the home; two daughters, Debbie Baker of Cedar Point and Pamela Grainger of Cape Carteret; son, Mike King of Cape Carteret; four step-daughters, Dorothy C. Smith, Janice C. Dickens, Barbara A. Rasey and Rita M. Steward all of Toledo, OH; sister, Daisy King Gray of Jacksonville; three half-sisters, Betty Ann King, Avie Lee King and Ester Niemira all of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Peletier Baptist Church Building Fund, 1300 Hwy. 58, Peletier, NC 28584.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro.
Friday, 11:00AM at Peletier Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Brown Holland Cemetery on Taylor Notion Road.
