James Eric Nelson, 56, of Jacksonville passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at his home.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville with Military Honors.
James was born in Little Rock, Ark. and was the son of Patricia Nunley Nelson and the late Claude Nelson. A brother also precedes him in death, Mark Alan Nelson. James served his country honorably with the United States Army and then with the Army National Guard.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Melony Yonce Nelson of the home; three daughters, Brandie Donlan and her husband, Timothy of Gainesville, GA, Brooke Wittman and her husband, Tyler of San Antonio, TX and BRI Nelson of the home; his mother, Patricia Nelson of Jacksonville, NC; two sisters, Linda King and her husband, Michael of Norfolk, VA and Claudia Nelson of Jacksonville, NC; three grandchildren, Pierson, Paislee and Cohyn.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
