April 7, 1959 – April 26, 2024
James E. Rozier (known to all as Jimmy or Jim) was born in Arlington, VA to Joseph H. Rozier, Sr. and Maxine (Kicklighter) Rozier. Jim grew up in Falls Church, VA, and spent his summers in Patterson, GA with his Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He attended Falls Church High School and NOVA Community College from which he earned his Associates Degree in Applied Science with a major in Construction Management Technology. His passion for this work led him to a forty-year career in the construction industry.
Jim was a best friend to his three brothers and a friend to all he met. Jim enjoyed his guy trips; canoeing and fishing on the Shenandoah with his Mung buddies; adventures snowmobiling in the upper Midwest and Canada as well as ice fishing on the snow-covered lakes in Minnesota. He really enjoyed fishing from the shores of the Outer Banks and offshore fishing in the Keys along with all the lakes and rivers in between. Most of all Jim loved his happy place at the beach hunting for treasures on long walks with his wife. He loved it so much that he and his wife retired to Holly Ridge, NC to enjoy the beaches of Topsail Island, NC.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean E. (Sanders) Rozier of 37 years; his brothers, Joe Rozier, Jr, his wife Frances of Jacksonville, FL, Don Rozier of Strasburg, VA and Tom Rozier and his Partner Karen Merkel of Virgina Beach, VA; his nephews; Max his wife, Jenn, Jake, and Luke Rozier of Colorado, Matt Harcourt his wife Michelle and great nephew Nolan of Jacksonville, FL, Nicholas Harcourt of Virginia Beach, VA and Stephen Gibson his wife Gina of Ashburn, VA. In addition, he is survived by his best friend Sherelyn K. Marshall of Wilmington, NC. Finally, his four-legged buddies that he loved dearly, Dakota, and Montana.
There will be a celebration of life in the Northern VA area for family and friends on May 22, 2024, at The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Park, (3701 Canal Rd)., Point of Rocks, MD at 11:00am . We ask in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Lower Cape Fear Life Care Hospice, lifecare.org
