It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janet Lee Smith, who peacefully left this world on Friday April 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Janet is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Jerry Smith, and her two daughters: Jennifer Smith-Mojica (Julio Mojica) and Jackie Smith. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Sam, Josh, and Sarah Mojica, who brought her endless joy and pride.

Janet lived a life full of love, kindness, and strength. Her unwavering devotion to her family and her enduring spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. She touched countless lives with her warmth, her compassion, and her steadfast faith. Janet had a passion for working with children and spent many joyful years at St. Anne's Preschool and Thompson Elementary. She deeply loved not only the children she cared for but also the many colleagues and friends she made along the way.

A celebration of life will be held at Jones Funeral Home to honor her life and legacy on April 29, 2025, at 11:00 am, Visitation one hour before. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for your continued prayers and support during this difficult time.

Though she may no longer walk beside us, Janet's love will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
