Janet F.
White
January 14, 1941 – April 22, 2026
Janet F. Pritt-White of Hubert, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 14, 1941, to Lonnie L. Pritt and Odith Marie Vanmeter Pritt, in Clay County, West Virginia. Janet, who many called Mamal, was a beautiful wife, mother, granddaughter, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Mamal did not like to go anywhere without her hair being done up. Her famous saying being, "Lord have mercy, I didn't even get my hair fixed!", as she was about to go out. Mamal had a big heart for fixing dinner for her friends and family to show her unconditional love. Mamals cooking was the best southern style food since she was the best cook. One important thing about Mamal was that she never met a stranger. She loved every soul she encountered and always did her best to help and show them the love of Jesus. Mamal enjoyed shopping at The Hem of His Garment in Swansboro so much so, she would always look for things for her loved ones, since she never could pass up a good deal. Mamal never wasted any food, she would make sure to keep leftovers in her home and keep her fridges fully stocked with food for her family and anyone visiting. Although Mamal had a lot of physical belongings, the things she treasured most was her Love for Jesus and her family. She made sure everyone she met felt her warmth and compassion and would let them know her Love of Jesus. No matter the time or distance she held you in her heart and prayed for you without you knowing. Mamal and Papal enjoyed music quite a bit too. One of Mamals favorite songs were "Roses are Red" that she enjoyed hearing her granddaughter sing to her. Mamal had the biggest heart for our Lord Jesus, she read her Bible and sang southern gospel with her family. She especially enjoyed singing "Thank You Lord for Your Blessings" by the Easter Brothers. Mamal will not only be forever missed but eternally loved by the ones she leaves behind. We will all make sure her Legacy leads on.
Janet (Jan) was preceded by her husband Gerald D. White Sr. and eldest son Gerald D. White Jr.
She is survived by her children Marilyn F. White, William L. White Sr. and family, James E. White Sr. and family, Margaret N. White Taylor and family, Brandi Jo White Alexander and family, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren, along with many adopted children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
