VERONA - Jerry Michael "Mike" Capps, 73, of, Verona, died Monday, April 27, 2026, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Wilmington.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel with Rev. Danny Padgett officiating.  Burial will follow at the Hicks Run Cemetery in Verona.

Mr. Capps is survived by his wife, Wanda Capps of the home; a son, Michael Capps (Kristian); two daughters, Heather O'Brien and Summer Lynn (Eric); one brother, Charles Capps (Mary Sue); five grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon beginning at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
