Swansboro- Jo Ellen Fullington Monteleone, 82, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Jo was born April 8, 1944, in Macon, Georgia, a daughter of the late Louis L. and Agnes A. (Sullivan) Fullington.

She worked for many years at Walgreens, where she truly enjoyed her work and the friendships she formed with her coworkers. In her younger years, she enjoyed going to yard sales, always looking forward to seeing what treasures she might find. Above all, she cherished her family and treasured the time she spent with those she loved.

Jo was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Phillip Monteleone, who passed away in 2016 and whom she missed terribly; her son, Jason Greek; grandson, Jaxson Greek; great-granddaughter, Sophie Tobin; and siblings, Roy, Sonya, and David.

She is survived by her children, Ronald “Tommy” Wells (Ann) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Susan Badillo (Neal) of Cape Carteret, North Carolina; son-in-law, Victor Badillo; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Greek; grandchildren, Braxton (Hayley), Dakota (Stephen), Trisha (Daniel), and Victoria (Stephen); six great-grandchildren; her baby girl, Bella; sister, Gina Burroughs Hill; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Dementia Society of America.
