Joan Ann
Hudson
February 19, 1952 – November 21, 2025
Joan Ann Hudson, 73, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born with a warm heart and a love for her family and friends, Joan built a life filled with love, loyalty, and quiet strength. For 49 years, she was the beloved wife of Leonard Robert Hudson, with whom she shared a partnership defined by unwavering devotion and deep companionship. Together, they created an amazing life centered on family, friendship, and love, filled with warmth, laughter, and a circle of friends who became like family.
Joan was the cherished mother of Tracy Lynn Dick and her husband Sean, Kathleen Anne Hudson, and Robert Leonard Hudson and his wife Courtney. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Cailin Ryan Dick, Nolan Robert Dick, Sierra Lynn Dick, Zoe Eleanor Kadow, and Lilah Rose Hudson. Known affectionately as "Nanny" to her grandchildren, they were her favorite people, and she delighted in following all of their activities, big and small, always cheering from the sidelines as their number one fan.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Regis Wiegand, as well as her beloved sisters, Susan Wiegand and Jean Hoffman. She is survived by her sister, Linda Harper, and her brothers Paul (Sharon) Wiegand and John (Kim) Wiegand.
Joan was also warmly embraced by Bob's family, who welcomed her as one of their own. Ellie and Len Hudson, along with the entire Hudson family, showed her the meaning of love, connection, and family, enriching her life and creating bonds that she cherished deeply.
Joan dedicated much of her professional life to SAE, where she worked with commitment and integrity until her retirement. She was known among colleagues for her incredible work ethic, unwavering reliability, and exceptional attention to detail. She formed lasting friendships there and took great pride in the work she accomplished.
She found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life, reading, relaxing at the beach, listening to music, and spending time with her dear friends. One of her greatest comforts was enjoying cocktail hour on the back porch, Joan and Bob's own little haven overlooking the pond. It was a place of peace, laughter, and conversation, a reflection of the home and life she created. Joan was also a wonderful storyteller, delighting friends and family with her tales, humor, and insights.
Above all, Joan taught her family the importance of love, connection, and being there for one another. She never missed an opportunity to express how thankful she was for her family and friends, reminding them often of just how much they meant to her. She had always dreamed of living near the beach, and with determination and heart, she made that dream come true. The ocean became one of her happiest places, a source of serenity and fulfillment.
Joan touched the lives of those around her with kindness, humility, and a genuine ability to make everyone feel cared for. She will be remembered for the love she poured into her family, the strength she carried throughout her life, and the gentle, comforting presence she brought to every room.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her husband Bob, children, grandchildren, siblings, and all who knew her.
