Joan Whitehurst Huffman, 83, of Richlands, NC entered into the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Joan was the daughter of the late Beadie Pearl Whitehurst Clark and the late Earl Whitehurst. She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Gene Huffman Sr., her son Bobby Gene Huffman Jr., her grandson Zachery Huffman, her sisters Lois Hobbes, Lela Popelka, Clara Varnadore, Jackie Kleszczewski, and her brother Dalton Whitehurst.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville with Reverend Mike Jarman officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior at the funeral home. A graveside will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.

She is survived by her daughters Debra Knowles (Ricky) and Kathy Jarman (Bob) of Richlands. She is survived by her brothers Clifton Whitehurst, Rex Whitehurst (Michelle), and Kenny Whitehurst (Rose). She also leaves behind a daughter in law, Carolyn Huffman. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She is survived by her grandchildren Jennifer Erich (Nathaniel), Bobby Huffman (Taler), Amanda Sunday (Mark), Chad Knowles (Jordan) and Alexis McKeel (Will). She is survived by 11 great grandkids. Joan is survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she cherished. Along with her loving family, Joan is survived by her best friends, Linda and Cecil Whaley, and a very special neighbor, Kelly Rouse.
