Swansboro- Joe Cecil Whitt, 72, passed away peacefully at the Crystal Coast Hospice House on October 23, 2025. He was born May 15, 1953, in Richlands, VA a son of the late Cecil and Peggy Sue Gillespie Whitt.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Joe faithfully served his country in the US Army and then began a career as a handyman of many trades and continued his career until retiring. Joe loved to help anyone with anything that needed to be done. He lived his life to the fullest and with a big smile.

He leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life for 30 years and wife of 21 years, Lorrie Whitt of the home. His children, Heidi Bowling (Clint) of Bolivia and Jason Whitt of SC; grandchildren, Hannah Bowling "Lady Bug", Ellea Bowling "Sweet Pea", Serenity Edwards and Faith Whitt. His great-granddaughters, Elsie June and Josie Jane; and siblings, Diana Hartman and Jane Whitt of Swansboro, and Alvin S. Whitt of AL.
