John Everett Dennett, 73 of Sneads Ferry, passed away Thursday morning at Lower Cape Fear Hospice of Wilmington.

A graveside service will be held on Monday afternoon at 2 PM at the Coastal Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery in Jacksonville with military honors.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Elda Dennett of the home; sons Timmothy Dennett and wife Linda of Bossier City, LA, Daniel Dennett and wife DeLinda of Rome, GA, Michael Dennett and wife Felisa of Sneads Ferry, David Dennett of Sneads Ferry, and Samuel Dennett and wife Rachel of Sneads Ferry; brother Richard of NH; sisters Judy of NH, Mary of TN, and Nancy of Vermont; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Jones Funeral Home of Jacksonville on Sunday evening from 6 – 8 PM.
