JACKSONVILLE - John Edwin Miller, 76, of Jacksonville, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

Mr. Miller was born on October 3, 1949, in Auburn, Indiana to the late Val Miller, Sr. and Cora Beth Martz Miller. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Barbara Miller, Val Miller, Jr., and David Miller.

John proudly served 15 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring as a SSgt. He was a proud Marine that stayed involved in Marine Corps acitivites up until his passing. John was a Boy Scout leader for 12 years and a Big Brother mentor for many years. He was a very caring and outgoing person who brought joy to a lot of people. He loved his wife and children.

John is survived by his wife, Karen Miller; his sister, Meri Beth Miller; children, Lisa McClendon, Jill Lehner, Randy Miller (Brandi), and Joshua Miller; grandchildren, Kala, E’Lisha, Kyle, and Sean; great-grandchild, Odin; step-children, Karen MacKinnon (Kenny), James Quintero (Marina), Jason Quintero (Ann), Karisa Rhodes (Les), Kim Saunders (Dave), and Krystal Preston (Michael); and several extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to the Marine Corps Museum.
