John George Garner, 77, of Sneads Ferry died Sunday at his home.  A funeral service will be Friday, Oct 21, at 10:30 AM at The Sneads Ferry Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The Revs. Crandall Fountain and Shane Miller will be officiating the service.

John is preceded in death by his son, Michael P. Garner, a sister, Jean Hockaday and a brother James Charlie Garner.

He is survived by his wife Lilly H. Garner, a son Richard Garner of Greenville, three sisters, Faye G. Thomas of Durham, Moochie G. Foster and husband Perry of Newport, and Amanda DesGroseilliers and husband Ron of Newport.

The family will receive friends Friday at the Church from 9:30am till 10:30 am prior to the service.
