John Christopher Nagy, 53, of Jacksonville, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 in Onslow County. He was a proud manager at Lowes and was devoted to serving his community. John was a big Manchester United fan who loved soccer and was an NC referee all the way up to college level.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the Infant of Prague Catholic Church.

John was preceded in death by his dad, Steven Nagy and stepdad, Steve DeLaVega and mom, Joanne Nagy DeLaVega.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 26 years, Misty Nagy of the home; daughter, Courtney of Jacksonville; three sons, John II and fiancée, Elise of Alaska, Brendan and fiancée, Catheryn of Jacksonville and Matthew of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Gabriel, Dominic, Aniyah and Aiden, all of Jacksonville; brother, Steve and his wife, Elaine of Greenville; and his niece and nephew,  Katie and Alex.

The family will receive friends Thursday prior to the Mass, from 11:30 until 12:30 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel.
