JACKSONVILLE  -  John Earl Savage, 82, of the Haws Run Community, died Saturday, April 19, 2025.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Henry Potter and Preacher Terry Austin officiating.  Burial, with military honors, will follow at the James Family Cemetery.

Mr. Savage was born in Pascagoula, MS to the late Noel and Lily Portman Savage.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having honorably served in the United States Marine Corps.  He was a longtime and loyal member of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Song Leader for many years before his health prohibited him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Faye Savage; and one brother, Henry Noel Savage.

Survivors include his daughter, Karen Malone Jenkins of Jacksonville; his son, Michael Craig Savage of Jacksonville; and one brother, Lewis Carl Savage and his wife, Lynn of Pascagoula, MS.  He was also PawPaw to two grandchildren, Krystal Malone and her fiancé, Robert and April Beam and her husband, Greg; and four great-grandchildren who lovingly referred to their PawPaw as "Handsome", Sara, Austin, Bailey and Adalynn.

The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon, prior to the service, from 12:00 PM until 1:00PM at the church.
