JACKSONVILLE  -  Johnetta Jones Pittman, 49, of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Tar Landing Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Onslow Memorial Park.

Johnetta was born on October 28, 1976, in Jacksonville, North Carolina to the late Johnnie Wright Jones and Irene Melton Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Tabitha Pittman, Elijah Pittman, and Gabriel Pittman.

Johnetta was a loving and devoted wife, mother, "Nonnie", sister, aunt, and friend. She cherished her relationship with her family more than anything else in this world and quality time with them, was time she considered well spent. Her favorite place in the world could be found anywhere her husband, children, and grandchildren were. Her second favorite place was the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. She loved watching college and professional sports (Go Tarheels!). She loved to attend all of her son's sporting events, as well as the sporting events of his friends and peers that he's grown up with throughout the years. She loved to support her children in all of their endeavors and just being present in the lives of those she loved the most. She loved the Lord, she loved going on adventures with her husband and she loved her Starbucks coffee. We loved her and we know she loved us. As much as we want her here with us, we know she is at peace, and is so happy to be reunited with those she loved that had gone before her, including her mother, daughter, Tabitha, and her sons, Elijah and Gabriel.

She is survived by her loving husband, Samuel "Sammy" Pittman; children, Samantha Pittman (Justin), Gabrielle Postlethwaite (Ryan), Adrienne Pittman, Hannah Gesell (Nick), and Jonathan Pittman; grandchildren, Joseph, Jakob, Felicity, Lera, Waylon, Jaiden, and two grandchildren on the way, Baby Postlethwaite and Baby Gesell; brother, Marvin Jones (Jennifer); and several special nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
