SWANSBORO - Joseph Alfred Beam, Jr. 81, of Swansboro, died Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro Chapel. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the VFW, 246 VFW Road, Cedar Point, NC.

Mr. Beam served in the USMC and fought in the Vietnam War. He was an active member of the Swansboro chapter of the Marine Corp League, Rolling Thunder NC-5, Moose, and VFW.  He was a life member of the American Legion.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dorothea Beam.

Survvivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Bohn Beam; his daughter, Lisa Fore and her husband, Joe of Swansboro; grandchildren, Marissa Manning and her husband, Ryan of Fayetteville, Krystena Stout and her husband, Jacob of Kuna, Idaho; and five great-grandchildren, Mackenna, Dolin, Meredith, Charlotte and Caine.
