Obituary

Joseph Allen Dudley, born November 8, 2000, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ on November 4, 2023.

Joseph was born in Munster, Indiana to Jeff and Nicole Dudley. In June of 2002 Joseph and his family moved from Indiana to Mocksville, North Carolina where his father served as an assistant pastor for 7 years. In December of 2009 he moved to Richwood, WV where his dad became the pastor of Liberty Baptist Church.

Joseph excelled in sports. He played soccer, football, basketball, baseball, track and field and his favorite sport, wrestling. His 11th grade year he was ranked 9th in the state of WV in wrestling and 6th in the state his senior year of high school.

Joseph earned a wrestling scholarship at Bluefield College where he wrestled for one year. College life wasn't for him, so he enlisted in the Marine Corp. Joseph took the coveted Honor Graduate award at boot camp in Parris Island.  He was the top recruit of 300 in his Delta company, 1066.

Joseph served as a Parachute Rigger at Camp Lejuene and it was in the Marine Corps where he met the love of his life, Annie whom he married April 27th, 2022. They have three fur babies Zorro, Kimera, and Cooper.

Joseph loved life and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, water and snowboarding.  He loved riding motorcycles. He lived and enjoyed a full life. Not because he lived a long life, but because he lived life to the fullest.  He loved his wife, his family and his band of brothers.

Most importantly Joseph loved God. He was a born again child of God, who is now in the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ.

Joseph was preceeded in death by his grandparents. Ron and Thurma (TK) Dudley.

He is survived by his wife Annemarie, of Jacksonville, NC, parents Jeff & Nicole Dudley of Richwood, WV, sister Jaclynn Dudley, of Fairmount, WV, brother Joshua Dudley of Richwood, WV. Grandparents Rex & Mona Podunavac of Mocksville, NC and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and Marine Corp brothers. One special cousin Kaitlin Ealy aka his twin.

The service will be November 10, 2023 at the Jones funeral home in Jacksonville, NC. Visitation will begin at 4pm with the service starting at 5pm, with Pastor Darrell Cox conducting the service.

The committal service will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the Rose Cemetary in Mocksville, NC.

A special memorial service will be held soon in Richwood, WV.
