HUBERT  -  Joseph Glenn Riggs, 95, of Hubert, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024 at the Kemptons of Jacksonville.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro Chapel with Chaplain June Bell-Burns officiating.

Mr. Riggs was born December 19,1928 in Punta Gorda, Fl to the late Joseph Webster and Janie Cole Riggs.

He faithfully served his country in the US Army and then began a career as an aircraft mechanic aboard Cherry Point and retired after a very successful career. He loved to spend time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Johnson Riggs; daughter, Robin Riggs; son, Ronald Riggs; grandson, John Riggs; and brothers, John Thomas and Russell Riggs.

Survivors include his daughters, Ginger Riggs of Morehead City, Sherry Glover of Wetumka, AL, and Regina Parker (Jeffrey) of Holly Ridge; sons, Denny Lynn Riggs (Darleen) of Newport, Michael Scaturro (Susan) of Wilmington, and Ross Scaturro of Wake Forest; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Betty French (Raymond) of Swansboro.

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM, at the funeral home.
