JACKSONVILLE - Ana "Josie" Josefina Pallang, of Jacksonville, died Saturday, April 14, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Infant of Prague Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Mrs. Pallang was a member of the Infant of Prague Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years as well as a Sacristan for several years. She attended the Universidad Nacional - Facultad de Ciencias de la Educacion in Bogota, Colombia, Russell Sage College in Troy, NY and Columbia University in New York, NY. She taught at the Infant of Prague School for 32 years and was also the Athletic Director.
Mrs. Pallang was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Maria Almanza of Bogota, Colombia.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Rod Pallang of the home; her sons, Rodney L. Pallang, Jr. and his wife, Darlene of Wilmington and Dennis M. Pallang and his wife, Toni of Myrtle Beach; two grandsons, Brandon and Christopher Pallang of Wilmington; a granddaughter, Ashley Pallang of Wilmington; her sister, Dr. Beatriz Eljaiek of Bogota, Colombia; and several nephews and nieces.
There will be a Prayer Service said Monday evening at the Infant of Prague Catholic Church during the family visitation from 7 - 9 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may made to the Infant of Prague Catholic Church or School, 205 Chaney Avenue, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
