Jacksonville- Joyce Jenkins Morton, aged 85, went to her heavenly home on Monday March 17th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport, NC. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Burial will immediately follow at Onslow Memorial Park.

Joyce was born on August 21st, 1939 in Jones County to parents, Emmett Jenkins and Flora Jenkins. Joyce's childhood and youth was spent with her three sisters, younger brothers, and parents moving around Onlsow County. Joyce's father was a preacher and instilled a deep love of God in Joyce from a young age. Joyce grew into a godly woman and lived her life by the word of God as best as she could. Joyce was a healer; whether it be from her profession of being a CNA, or simply by a deep hug and a quick prayer. Joyce never turned a person in need away and lived her life spreading love and joy to others. She was married to the love of her life at 18 years old, and together they enjoyed almost 68 years of true love.

Joyce is survived by her husband Gerald Morton, her children Brenda Ramsey, Kenneth Morton and Sherry Morton, and Tammy Sokoloski, along with her many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Joyce loved her family until her last breath. Anyone who met Joyce became a part of her family, and she would love and pray for them the same as she would her blood relatives. Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel and Joyce's family knows she is at peace with her Lord and Savior.

The family will receive friends on Thursday March 20, 2025 at 6pm-8pm at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
