Joyce Ann Nelson Schaefer, 83, of Holly Ridge, passed away on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, at 121 Clearview Dr, Holly Ridge, NC 28445. The family will host a reception for a time of fellowship following the service.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Schaefer; son, Donald Jeffery Schaefer; her infant daughter, Shawn Marie Schaefer; and her parents, Helen and Walter Nelson.

She is survived by her daughters, Shannon Marie Major and Sherri Theresa Schaefer of Sneads Ferry; her granddaughter, Ashley Marie Schaefer; brother, Walter Chester Nelson; and her sister, Emilee Minar.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce's memory to the New River Community Church of God at 117 Wheeler Creek Rd, Sneads Ferry, NC 28460.
