Judith Ann Barnes, 84, died on November 9, 2024 following a long battle with dementia. She passed away peacefully in Jacksonville, NC.

Born May 17, 1940 in Greensboro, NC, Mrs. Barnes was the daughter of the late Henry and Olivia Sox Barnes. She resided in Kannapolis, NC for many years.

Mrs. Barnes was educated at A. L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, NC and was a graduate of High Point Business College (High Point University) in NC. She was named Miss High Point College during her attendance.

Mrs. Barnes was previously employed as a Deputy Clerk of Court in Danville, VA and also was employed at First Assembly Church in Concord, NC working with seniors in assisted living. She retired from Cabarrus County Social Services.

She was preceded in death by her parents (Henry and Olivia), spouses (Tom Bradshaw) and (William Larson) and a grandson (Matthew Bradshaw).

Mrs. Barnes is survived by her sister, Linda Barnes Iacona, her niece, Cara Iacona Coleman (Kevin and their 3 children) Mrs. Barnes' children, Tommy Bradshaw (Lori) and Jonathon Bradshaw (Emillie), 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Barnes was a lifelong member of Trinity Methodist Church in Kannapolis, N.C. Jones Funeral Home is handling the arrangements and a private memorial service will be held a future date.

The family requests in lieu of flowers a donation to a church or local animal shelter.
