Obituary

Jacksonville – Judy Carol Huff, 81, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, passed away on October 6, 2026, at Novant Health in Wilmington. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Blue Creek Baptist Church, with burial to immediately follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

Judy was born on April 12, 1945, in Randolph County, North Carolina, to the late William Hendrix and Rachael Swing Hendrix. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Huff, Sr., and her sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia Fetner and Jack Fetner.

Judy was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who meant so much to everyone who knew her. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart.

Her grandchildren were especially precious to her and brought her great joy. She loved spending time with them and was always there for them. And on occasion, Judy was known to help pay for a speeding ticket or two for her grandchildren.

Judy loved her church, and her faith in Jesus was at the center of her life. She prayed continuously for her family and friends. After becoming a widow herself, Judy had a special place in her heart for other widows. She made it her mission to make sure they were never forgotten, offering friendship and encouragement through phone calls, lunches, and other activities that brought them together.

She enjoyed Shag dancing and spending time with her friends, especially her dear friend Carolyn, that she ate lunch with every day. Judy knew how to enjoy life and how to make the people around her feel loved. She will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, faith, and beautiful memories will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Sherri Jones and Dennis Huff, Jr. (Angela); grandchildren, Chassidy Kelley, Cara Brown (Jake), Brittney Little (Zach), Kayla Santorio (Giulio), Matthew Huff, and Brooks Little (Kelly); great-grandchildren, Zeplyn, Xander, Aydia, Rueger, Braxton, Zavix, Gatling, Odin, Charlie, Bennett, and Harrison; and many good friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Kettering, Kettering Campus, located at 3001 Ackerman Blvd, Kettering, OH 45429
