Richlands- Julie Kathryn Jones (83) passed Thursday September 24, 2026, with her family surrounded by her side.

A visitation followed by a memorial service will be held Sunday October 4, 2026, at 3pm at Jones Funeral Home of Richlands.

Kathy was born January 13, 1943, in Jones County to the late Julie and Robert Jones.

In life Kathy (whose nickname was Doodle) was a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, as well as a loving friend to many. Always putting her family’s needs first. She loved children and babysitting was her joy. She was entrusted my many mothers to take care of their children. She proudly answered to the name “grandma”.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, son, Danny Lynn, siblings, Shine, Pete Bo, Dot, Buddy Boy, PeeWee, Porky, and Margie.

She leaves behind her children, Lewis (Tammy), Allen (Tammy), Juanita (Jimi), Mark (Sarah), Jimmy (Pam), and Katie; siblings, Boogie, Mae, Margaret, Minnie, Jane, and Sammy. And numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

But what she truly leaves behind is a legacy of love. She will always be remembered for the love she gave.
