Karen Ann Hopkins (60) passed Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Onslow Memorial Hospital with her loved ones by her side.

Karen was born March 25, 1966, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Joyce, and Ronald Lessard.

She was known for her avid passion for living life…and referencing the bionic woman… a lot.

Always hard working, just like the bionic woman, she never stopped.

Karen was also dedicated to her education, taking several career paths along the way, paralegal, surgical tech, and more.

Some would even refer to her as stubborn, in her own loveable way. But in reality, she would say it’s just because she’s an Aries (valid).

She had a massive impact on those around her no matter where she went, being playful and teasing was her love language.

But above all else she was loving. She loved her family deeply, her friends, and life in general.

She has truly made her mark on the world for the better, and for that those who loved her, or have been lucky enough to be loved by her, will always look back at her with appreciation and fondness.

She is preceded in death by her son, Stephen Hopkins, sisters, Christine Pecor, Catherine Thompson, brothers, Ronald Lessard Jr., Michael Lessard, and many loving family and friends.

She leaves behind her daughters, Samara Ismail, Leanna Ismail, sister, Sandra “Pooh” Bryant, life partner, Mohammad Ismail, and fur-nephew Bud-Weiser (who is Pooh’s dog, but we all know he clearly liked Auntie Karen more).
