Jacksonville – Kenneth Jan Moore, 86, of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away on August 5, 2026, at Carolina Rivers Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel,, with Rev. Danny Padgett officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Rawls Family Cemetery.

Jan was born on July 23, 1940, in Wilson, North Carolina to the late Alfred Moore and Rosamond Ward Moore. In addition to his parents, he is preceeded in death by his wife, Esther Moore and siblings, Betsy Sauter, Nell Moore, and James Moore.

He is survived by his children, Jon Moore (PJ) of Holly Ridge and Amanda McGregor (Matthew) of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Justice McGregor, Taylor Moore, Lily Moore, Cohen Moore, and Kaylin Spanjers; brother, Billy Moore (Emma) of Kinston; life partner, Joyce Williams of Jacksonville; and several extended family members and friends.

The family will receive at the funeral home prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.

Visitors are welcome at Amanda’s residence.
