Obituary

JACKSONVILLE  -  The vivacious melody of beloved father and grandfather, Krishnamurthy Tumkur's life slowly faded with his passing on December 29, 2024, surrounded by loved ones who will honor his legacy by clapping energetically to their own life's music.

The early years of Krishnamurthy's life was a staccato tune that was articulated by his many professional achievements. Born in Karnataka, India, he was the eighth child of seven brothers and three sisters, and the baby of his family. Krishnamurthy completed his bachelor's degree at BMS College of Engineering and went on to become a mechanical engineer. In 2006, he retired and moved to the United States to live with his daughter, Smitha, and her family.

The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Krishnamurthy, composing the tranquil song of his final years. He was an avid table-tennis enthusiast, spending hours at the Senior Center playing matches with fellow elderly enthusiasts. Krishnamurthy also loved eating and became the willing guinea-pig for all his son-in-law, Nagesh's cooking creations. He enjoyed inspecting the colorful illustrations that his grandsons, Anish and Akshay made for him. He also especially loved watching his granddaughter, Aneesha, dance, giving her pointers on her technique, and patiently listened to his grandson, Tejas, struggle through learning new pieces on his guitar. Most of all, he loved going on car-ride adventures with his daughter, Smitha, and was always a constant and encouraging supporter of her whims.

Krishnamurthy had the uncanny ability to find so much happiness in the s daily activities, and an iron willpower that allowed his immeasurable physical and mental strength, which he attributed to his yogic practice. His life's melody will continue to touch the ears of his children Smitha and Sharath and his many relatives and friends, forever.
