JACKSONVILLE  -  Larry Glenn Henderson, 72, of Jacksonville, passed away peaceably Tuesday, December 31, 2024 while surrounded by his family and friends at Onslow Memorial Hospital. A visitation will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel, beginning at 9:00 AM.  Funeral services will follow at 10:00 AM with Rev. Mitch Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.

Larry was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina at Onslow Memorial Hospital on November 14, 1952. He was raised in Jacksonville, having attended Onslow County schools. Larry retired from Craven Community College, as the director of facilities, after serving the college for over 20 years. He also worked for Edwards Heating and Air for seven years, where he became a part of their family and they became a part of his family.

Larry enjoyed being outdoors. He loved to fish, go to the drag-strip, garden, cook, and cut his lawn. But his all-time favorite was to hang out with friends and family. If you knew Larry, you knew how much he loved his granddaughter Natalie and son Kevin. You would know that he was a loving man who loved to laugh and talk about the good old days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Henderson and Gladys Morton, and by his brother Ronnie Henderson.

Larry leaves behind his son Kevin and wife, Jadine Henderson. He also leaves behind the pride and joy's of his life, his four grandchildren, Natalie Christine, Benson Warren, Lincoln Jay and Mayli Elizabeth of the home.
