Lynn Gurganus passed away on September 1,2025 at ECU medical center Greenville, N.C. Lynn was born in New York City on December 13, 1944, to the late Taylor and Bobbie Affelder. Lynn was a devoted Christian who studied the bible daily. She was a loving wife of 45 years, Mother and Grandmother. She graduated from the University of Texas-Dallas and was a licensed contractor who worked for Habitat for Humanity as construction manager from 2004 to 2008. Lynn enjoyed cooking, gardening and especially reading the bible.

She is survived by her husband Tom (Tommy) of New Bern, N.C. One son Bradley Slease of Monument, CO, one stepdaughter Stephanie Ravegum of Arvada, CO, and Six grandchildren, Adalyn, Elsie, William, Isabelle, Owen and Andrew.

In lieu of flowers donations could be made to Carolina East Foundation, New Bern, N.C. Funeral service will be Saturday Sept. 6th at 11am Jones funeral home Chapel Jacksonville, N.C. Private burial will be Monday Sept.8th at the Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery. Denny Bucher will be officiating.
