JACKSONVILLE  -  Marilyn Freshwater Alderman, 80, of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025.  Memorial services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial  Park.

Marilyn was born December 15, 1944 in Jacksonville, NC to the late Hurbert B. Freshwater and Edna Earl Bullock Freshwater.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Edward Freshwater.

She is survived by her children, Alva R. Marshburn, Jr. "Rusty'(Jennifer), Holly Ridge, NC and Matthew Case Marshburn (Michelle), Richlands, NC; siblings, Nancy Freshwater Batounis (John), Wilmington, NC, Robert Earl Freshwater(Barbara), Jacksonville, NC; grandchildren, Austin Rogers Marshburn(Carli), Case Oneal Marshburn(Lacey), Brooklyn Rayne Marshburn(Andrew); great-grandson, Bodhi Rogers Marshburn; two nephews; three nieces; three great-nieces; and three great-nephews.

The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
