MIDWAY PARK  -  Marvin Eugene Hutsell, 72, of Midway Park, died Sunday, November 17, 2024 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

Mr. Hutsell was a retired Navy veteran.  He served honorably for 20 years from 1972 until 1992 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm.  He was a Navy Cook and loved his job.  In his retirement, Marvin loved to read and tell his family stories from his younger days and play bingo and pull tabs.  He was a beloved brother, uncle and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Estel and Leah Hutsell; Grandparents Hazzard and Grandparents Hutsell; his brother, James Estel Hutsell; and one nephew, Khristopher Kretz.

Survivors include his sister, Betty "Panda" Courtney and her husband, Michael of Jacksonville; nephew, Shawn and his wife, Tiffany and their children, great-nieces, Erin and Courtney, all of Lewisville, NC; nephew, Bryan Kretz and his children, great-niece and nephew, Makayla and Remi of Wiley, CO; niece, Lisa Kretz of Jacksonville; and niece, Jimmie Noell of Citrus Height, CA.
